THE PREDICTION
The Chiefs will begin their Super Rugby Aotearoa campaign with a clash against the Highlanders, a side that suffered a loss in their opening game last week. Defending champions Crusaders proved too good for them in that contest but the Highlanders will feel this is a more winnable encounter. They won both of their matches against the Chiefs last year and the Highlanders will believe they can make it three victories in succession. The Chiefs were hugely underwhelming last time around as they failed to win a single game and they will be determined to right the wrongs of that wretched campaign. They are more than capable of responding under head coach Warren Gatland's tutelage but with the Highlanders proving too good for them of late with no defeat in their last four meetings, it is the away side that can prevail here.
