THE LOWDOWN

AUSTRALIA

Australia hit a new low after they were hammered by Wales last week and it now looks like they will miss out on a spot in the knockout stages. That is unthinkable for a nation of Australia’s standing and the Wallabies will be desperate to save face in this game with Portugal.

PORTUGAL

Portugal played out a draw with Georgia last week and will take plenty from that entertaining encounter. It saw renewed calls to open up the Six Nations and despite missing a last-gasp penalty to win the game, the Portuguese will be on a real high after coming away with a positive result.

THE PREDICTION

All eyes will be on Australia in this game in what looks set to be their final game of this year’s RWC. They have lost their last two pool games after going down to Wales in a big way last week and it doesn’t even look like they are capable of responding. They should win this but Portugal can do enough to prevent a blowout.

BETTING TIP: Portugal +30
