Brive claimed their second Top 14 away win in a row as they stole away from Castres with four points thanks to a 24-25 smash and grab on Tuesday night. The win saw them leapfrog their opponents all the way up into 19th place and that makes the prospect of welcoming the league’s in-form side on Boxing Day less daunting. Lyon are now on a seven-match winning streak in all competitions after a heavy defeat of Gloucester was followed up by a default win over Glasgow Warriors and their games in-hand in the Top 14 will be starting to concern the leaders at the top. Brive’s defeats to better opposition in the Challenge Cup will be a good benchmark for their visitors here and if Leicester Tigers could cover -22 at home to Brive, Lyon can cover -15 on the road here.
