THE PREDICTION
Bayonne and Pau both enjoyed early flurries of success in the new Top 14 season but some form of normality has returned to the table that sees them in a comfortable position in the lower-half of the standings. Bayonne had some difficulty in Europe and had their most recent fixture against Castres postponed due to covid-19 reasons to make for a frustrating December and Pau have fared much better over recent weeks. Pau did well to beat one of the Premiership opponents in Worcester Warriors in the Challenge Cup before pulling off one of their scattered shocks this season when they upset Stade Francais 29-27 on Sunday. That form should see the visitors in high spirits here but their style of play leaves plenty of opportunities for their opponent’s to score well too. That being said, this match going over 40 points looks likely and it could be worth leaving it there. A result, if forced, looks likelier to fall in Pau’s favour.
