THE PREDICTION

Leinster start this next round of Pro14 fixtures seven points behind current leaders Ulster due to their now two games in-hand over their Conference A rivals. Two postponed league fixtures either side of back-to-back wins in the Champions Cup are the culprits for their losing the lead in the table but there is no mistaking that they are the leaders-elect in the Pro14 and still the team setting almost unachievable benchmarks. Unbeaten this season, they will welcome a Connacht side finding themselves in the uncharted waters of a three-match losing streak. Three consecutive competitive defeats to big guns like Racing 92, Bristol Bears in Europe and Ulster last time out in the Pro14 have left them all at sea for this match. Whilst a win here would have been the shock of the new season, Connacht would have been hoping to be in a better place mentally for this encounter but they now find themselves adrift in the table from the rest of the Irish cohort. Leinster will be expecting to make a big statement here on their return to the Pro14 and should be capable of covering -25 in victory at home against a side in a small amount of disarray.
