THE PREDICTION
Glasgow Warriors have had real trouble with covid-19 related cancellations and postponements over recent weeks in what is proving to be a very difficult month for Rugby Union in general. They handed a default loss to Lyon in the Champions Cup before Christmas to back-up a blank they were very much at fault for when they lost 42-0 at Exeter Chiefs and lost to fellow strugglers Dragons in the Pro14 before that. They will hope to get back to basics here against Scottish rivals Edinburgh but after last week’s reverse was postponed, the onus is on their hosts to grab this opportunity to have the first say. Edinburgh did very well to beat Sale Sharks in their last match played in the Champions Cup and were not embarrassed in defeat at home to French Top 14 leaders La Rochelle either. This looks like it could come down to one key moment, like a damaging penalty at the very last minute, and so backing the hosts to win here in a match that should come under 40 points seems a reasonable, if slightly risky, call.
