THE PREDICTION
Ulster will be eager to extend their lead at the top of the Pro14 as things stand when they travel to Connacht in the knowledge Leinster will be facing tough opposition away to Munster. These two Irish fixtures should be some of the highlights of sporting occasions on Boxing Day and both teams will be vengeful from the off here after their poor starts to the new Champions Cup campaign. Connacht lost competitively to Racing 92 in the first week of fixtures and then at home to the Premiership’s Bristol Bears 18-27 last Sunday to see them with just two wins since the start of November thanks in part to several postponements. Ulster remain unbeaten in the Pro14 but lost both of their cup fixtures too, to Toulouse and Gloucester, and bruised egos could come into what looks set to be a very physical match-up. Ulster’s Pro14 record looks too good for Connacht, though, and they can cover -5 here to stay top of the league.
