THE TEAM NEWS

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS

  • Huddersfield Giants bounced back from their first loss of the season to Wigan Warriors as they proved to be far too good for Salford Red Devils last week, restricting their opponents to a solitary penalty goal in what was an impressive all-round display.
  • The Giants showed some excellent defensive qualities in that contest while they were also able to ask plenty of questions in attack despite Theo Fages missing out and the Frenchman is absent once again for this clash but hooker Danny Levi is back from a ban.

CASTLEFORD TIGERS

  • Castleford Tigers were able to claim their first win of the new season as Lee Radford got one over his former club Hull FC and he will be desperate to build on that effort as they aim to climb up the table.
  • Cas were impressive in claiming the win last week despite missing a host of players but they are boosted here by the return of Liam Watts from a ban while Jake Mamo and Kenny Edwards are back in the squad after overcoming injuries.

21-man squad: 2 Derrell Olpherts, 3 Jordan Turner, 4 Jake Mamo, 6 Jake Trueman, 8 Liam Watts, 9 Paul McShane, 10 George Lawler, 11 Kenny Edwards, 13 Joe Westerman, 17 Mahe Fonua, 19 Tyla Hepi, 20 James Clare, 21 Alex Sutcliffe, 22 Daniel Smith, 23 Greg Eden, 24 Cheyse Blair, 25 Suaia Matagi, 28 Brad Martin, 29 Sam Hall, 31 Gareth O’Brien, 32 Cain Robb

THE PREDICTION

Huddersfield Giants have started the season in good form and will take some beating here as they host Castleford Tigers. The away side broke their duck for the year as they overcame Hull FC but this will be a tougher task as they head on the road to face a Giants side with just one loss from their four games to date. The hosts have been comfortable in both of their home matches so far this season and while the Tigers showed a lot more last week to get off the mark, they look set to come unstuck once again with the Giants set to have too much for them.
