- St. Helens opted to rest a host of their big names for their final game of the regular season with Salford Red Devils and despite suffering defeat in that contest, head coach Kristian Woolf was no doubt content with his decision.
- Saints are almost at full-strength for this semi-final and will be refreshed after earning the week off last week with their fitness likely to prove crucial in overcoming a Leeds Rhinos side that struggled to cope with their intensity in their most recent meeting.

- Leeds Rhinos did what was required as they came out on top of a low-scoring affair with Wigan Warriors last week and they did so by keeping their opponents scoreless in the process.
- Attention now turns to what will be a much tougher assignment against St. Helens and while confidence is flowing amongst the Rhinos squad, they have lost eight consecutive matches in all competitions against Saints.

THE PREDICTION
St. Helens will look to continue their excellent winning streak
against Leeds Rhinos as they bid to secure their spot in the Grand
Final. Saints, going in search of a third consecutive Super League
title, come into this on the back of a week off having finished second
in the table and with Leeds playing out a draining contest with Wigan
Warriors last week, the Rhinos will have to be on their guard from the
first whistle. Leeds were worthy winners against Wigan but in truth,
they were not asked many questions defensively and Saints will pose a
very different threat. The defending champions looked formidable when
the two teams last met less than a month ago and it is difficult to see
the Rhinos reversing that form with a ninth straight win between the
teams on the cards for Saints here.
