- Salford Red Devils threw plenty at Wigan Warriors last week and defended resolutely for much of the game but they were beaten on the back of some indiscipline which allowed the Warriors to take the victory.
- Ata Hingano’s second half yellow card did not help matters either as the Red Devils went down 16-6 but they showed enough in that game to suggest if they can fix their errors and stop giving away needless penalties, they can avoid a third straight loss in this one.

- Huddersfield Giants looked set to be in for a long afternoon after they found themselves 18 points down early on against Wakefield Trinity but they fought back superbly to claim a brilliant win.
- After also losing halfback Oliver Russell in the opening stages, the Giants had it all to do to overcome that deficit but they scored 22 unanswered points to make it three successive victories.

THE PREDICTION
Ian Watson returns to Salford Red Devils for the first time since
leaving the club to make the move to Huddersfield Giants. He is likely
to receive a frosty reception but he will not mind if his side can
secure a fourth consecutive win. They arrive in good form and overcame
some real adversity to see off Wakefield Trinity last week. Salford on
the other hand showed some promising signs in defeat to Wigan Warriors
last week and they will want to build on that, especially as they look
to send Lee Mossop off on a high after the prop announced his immediate
retirement this week. He will deliver the match ball in front of what
should be a raucous crowd and with the benefit of an eight-point start,
the hosts can prevail to get the better of their former coach for the
second time this season.
