- Wakefield picked up their second win of the season as they produced a strong showing in the second half to see off Salford last week and they will be confident as they return to home soil to face a Hull FC side that have lost their last three games.
- Trinity were hoping to be boosted by the return of long-term absentees David Fifita and Tinirau Arona to add some size to their pack but only the latter has been named in this week’s 21-man squad with Fifita failing to prove his fitness.
- Danny Kirmond makes way in the only change to last week’s squad but Chris Chester is starting to get the bulk of his first-choice 17 back and will hope to have Fifita and Danny Brough back in contention next week.

- Hull FC blew an 18-point lead with under 20 minutes remaining as they suffered their third consecutive loss when going down to Catalans and they are now under huge pressure to end their losing run as they head to Wakefield.
- FC will be without Jake Connor after he limped off during the first half of last week's defeat to Catalans and having suffered an injury during the warm-up of Sunday’s clash, Adam Swift will again sit out.
- Connor Wynne and Joe Cator come in to the 21-man squad in place of the injured duo and the latter is in line to make his debut for the club having built up his fitness by featuring for Bradford Bulls on dual-registration last week.

Wakefield bounced back from their defeat against Castleford as they did enough to beat Salford last week. They face a Hull FC side that have lost their last three and this is likely to be a nervy affair for them as they attempt to get back to winning ways following the manner of last week’s defeat. On what could be a heavy pitch to play on, points are likely to be at a premium in a game that should go under 42.5 points.
