THE TEAM NEWS

WESTS TIGERS

  • Wests Tigers produced a shambolic performance as they failed to score a try in their loss to New Zealand Warriors last week which was their fourth defeat in-a-row and things do not get any easier for them here as they take on Parramatta Eels.
  • Wests have managed just one win in their last eight outings but they will have skipper James Tamou back on deck for this fixture after he was a late withdrawal last week while Adam Doueihi comes into the run-on side.

Starting 13: Laurie, Nofoaluma, To’a, Doueihi, Maumalo, Brooks, Hastings, Tamou, Brown, Musgrove, Garner, Tuilagi, Ofahengaue – Interchanges: Utoikamanu, Matamua, Liddle, Pole – Reserves: Dias, Seyfarth, Tupou, Kepaoa, Madden

Unavailable: Shawn Blore, Tommy Talau, Oliver Gildart, Alex Twal, Brent Naden

PARRAMATTA EELS

  • Parramatta Eels once again failed to build on an impressive performance in their prior contest as they were on the end of a big defeat against South Sydney Rabbitohs last week, fresh from their superb win over Sydney Roosters.
  • Consistency has harmed the Eels all year but this game with Wests Tigers presents them with a brilliant chance to make an immediate return to winning ways, although they will be without New South Wales prop Junior Paulo.

Starting 13: Gutherson, Sivo, Blake, Penisini, Simonsson, D. Brown, Moses, Campbell-Gillard, Mahoney, Niukore, Lane, Papali’i, Matterson – Interchanges: Makatoa, Opacic, Kaufusi, Rodwell – Reserves: N. Brown, Arthur, Russell, Greig, Perham

Unavailable: Haze Dunster, Ray Stone, Bryce Cartwright, Junior Paulo

THE PREDICTION

Wests Tigers are yet to fire under interim head coach Brett Kimmorley as they produced an abysmal display against New Zealand Warriors last week. A solitary penalty produced their only two points of the game as they suffered a fourth straight loss. They now take on a Parramatta Eels outfit that will still fancy their chances of making the top four, although they will need to be much better than in their loss to South Sydney Rabbitohs last week. However, the Eels should have far too much for the struggling hosts and it would not be a surprise to see the visitors win by at least 12 points.
