Sydney Roosters will be hoping for more luck with injuries this year after their 2021 campaign was wrecked and Trent Robinson will be confident that his side can get back into contention for the Premiership if he can keep his best side on the field. They take on Newcastle Knights in this opening contest and with the likes of Luke Keary back to pull the strings, this could be a tough matchup for the away side. The Knights look short on quality across the park and with many fancying them to struggle at the wrong end of the ladder this season, an opening round loss can highlight their shortcomings with the Roosters able to run out winners by 13+ points.
