- Having also lost their last eight games to end last season, the Dragons have won just one of their last 13 matches which is nowhere near good enough and Anthony Griffin could find it difficult to keep his job if results to not improve soon with the head coach once again opting for experience this week with Josh McGuire and George Burgess coming into the side.

- Newcastle Knights were impacted by injuries in last week’s defeat to Manly Sea Eagles but they were ultimately not good enough to claim the win as they struggled to create with ball in hand for the second week in-a-row.
- The Knights were limited to a solitary try which came on the back of a scoreless effort against Cronulla Sharks in their previous outing and they have been forced into a couple of changes this week with Dom Young and Jirah Momoisea ruled out but David Klemmer is set to return while Edrick Lee comes onto the wing to make his first appearance in more than 18 months.

THE PREDICTION
Two struggling teams meet in this contest on Sunday afternoon with St. George Illawarra Dragons hosting Newcastle Knights. The Dragons have lost their last four while their form stretching back to last season does not make for good reading. Head coach Anthony Griffin has hit the panic button of late in terms of his team selection and that could come back to bite him once again here with some of their talented youngsters once again left out of the starting 13 and in some cases, left in the reserves. The Knights have lost their last three but have at least come unstuck against three quality teams in the process and they look capable of getting back to winning ways here so should be taken with the +4.5 start offered on the handicap.
