- After the high of ending Penrith Panthers’ unbeaten start to the campaign as well as their excellent winning streak on home soil, Parramatta Eels were brought back down to earth as they failed to back that success up in their clash with Sydney Roosters last week.
- The Eels are now on a six-match W-L sequence with them finding consistency difficult to come by but they will hope that run continues for at least one more week as they aim to bounce back and they are boosted by the return of Marata Niukore.

- Manly Sea Eagles produced a woeful effort as they were nilled by Brisbane Broncos in last week’s Magic Round and in truth, they never really looked like scoring with Des Hasler’s side struggling to make anything stick with the ball.

The Sea Eagles have lost three of their last four after a terrible performance which saw them suffer a hammering at the hands of Brisbane Broncos last week and a big reaction is needed here. The Eels on the other hand have looked the better of the two so far this season but are struggling to put back-to-back performances together. However, they were at least competitive in their loss to Sydney Roosters last week and can bounce back here.
