- Newcastle Knights’ seven-game losing streak came to an end as they overcame Canterbury Bulldogs in what was an ugly win last week and they will be desperate to build on that effort as they pulled themselves off the foot of the ladder.
- It was just a third win of the campaign for the Knights but they have received a big boost ahead of their quest to earn a fourth with Dane Gagai and Tyson Frizell named to return from injury while all eyes will be on Anthony Milford who will make his Newcastle debut against his former club.

The Broncos are playing some good footy and also defending well and while the Knights have some key ins this week, they look set to suffer an eighth loss in their last nine matches.
