- 2021 got off to an inauspicious start for Wests Tigers as they proved to be their own worst enemies in their loss to Canberra Raiders last week and they have issues to fix on both sides of the ball ahead of this difficult challenge against Sydney Roosters.
- Wests asked few questions in their 30-12 defeat despite seeing more of the ball than their opponents but missing 35 tackles was nowhere near good enough to keep the Raiders at bay and a similar number here will see them struggle again.

- Sydney Roosters produced a very impressive performance to begin their campaign as they tore Manly Sea Eagles apart with a superb attacking display in a game where they crossed the whitewash for nine tries.
- That 46-4 blowout sets the tone for the Roosters with them running for over 2,000 metres in that success and if they can get anywhere near to their average set distance of 50.7m again this week, they will be extremely tough to beat.
THE PREDICTION
These two teams had very different starts to the season last week and if Wests Tigers do not show big improvements, this will be another long afternoon for them. They were comfortably beaten by Canberra Raiders last week with them struggling on both sides of the ball. There were no such issues for Sydney Roosters who demolished Manly Sea Eagles and with a huge contrast in performances last week, it would be a surprise if the Roosters failed to make it five straight wins against their opponents with the margin of victory likely to be at least six points.
