- St. George Illawarra Dragons were unable to put their shock loss to New Zealand Warriors behind them as they fell well short against Sydney Roosters in their traditional Anzac Day clash last weekend.
- The Dragons were well-beaten 34-10 and in their quest to avoid a third straight loss, they will have to overcome the loss of last week’s starting wingers with Mikaele Ravalawa and Jordan Pereira both banned after making high shots in that game.

- It was another week and another shambolic showing from Wests Tigers with that occurring far too often this season alone and having shipped 40 points to Manly Sea Eagles last week, Michael Maguire’s job appears to be under serious threat.
- That defeat last week means they ended Round 7 with the most points in the conceded column of any side in the NRL but their issues with the ball also came to the fore again having managed just a solitary try.
THE PREDICTION
St. George Illawarra Dragons were unable to compete with Sydney Roosters last week but they have the perfect chance to respond here as they host struggling Wests Tigers. The away side have managed just one win from their seven games so far this season and their defence is the worst in the NRL through those matches. The Dragons have slipped up after winning four in a row and will now aim to avoid a third consecutive loss and with Wests coming under serious scrutiny following another woeful showing, the Dragons can compound their misery in this one with the return of skipper Ben Hunt set to help St. George get back on track.
