- South Sydney Rabbitohs earned the week off as they upset Penrith Panthers in the opening round of the finals, securing their berth in the preliminary finals and the rest is likely to have done them good.

- Manly Sea Eagles produced a brilliant response to their heavy loss to Melbourne Storm by dumping Sydney Roosters out of the NRL finals with a one-sided victory in last week’s semi-final clash.
- Fullback Tom Trbojevic was back to his best and had a hand in everything good that Manly did, helping his side to a 42-6 win and move them to within just one game of making the Grand Final but the Sea Eagles could be in for some injury strife with centre Brad Parker a doubt.
THE PREDICTION
This should be an excellent contest to determine the first team to
advance to the NRL Grand Final as South Sydney Rabbitohs take on Manly
Sea Eagles. The Rabbitohs come into this refreshed after earning the
week off thanks to a win over Penrith Panthers in their opening game of
the finals while the Sea Eagles have had to do it the hard way. They
suffered a big loss in week 1 as they were well-beaten by minor premiers
Melbourne Storm but they put that behind them with an impressive
performance to see off Sydney Roosters last week. There is very little
between these two teams with both posting potent attacking quality but
having won the last four matches between the two as well as coming into
this the fresher of the two, South Sydney are favoured to book their
spot in 3rd October showpiece.
