THE TEAM NEWS

PARRAMATTA EELS

Starting 13: Gutherson, Sivo, Opacic, Blake, Ferguson, D. Brown, Moses, Kaufusi, Mahoney, Paulo, Papali’i, Matterson, N. Brown – Interchanges: Cartwright, Lane, Niukore, Smith – Reserves: Dunster, Stone, Arthur, Makatoa

  • Parramatta Eels’ position in the top four looks in serious doubt after suffering a poor defeat against Sydney Roosters last week and it will take a lot for them to respond to that after failing to score a point against their rivals.
  • The Roosters moved level on points with the Eels and Parramatta now face another tough contest against South Sydney Rabbitohs, although they are boosted by the return of halfback Mitchell Moses which should see them offer more in attack.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

Starting 13: Mitchell, Mansour, Gagai, Milne, Paulo, Walker, Reynolds, Nicholls, Cook, Burgess, Koloamatangi, Arrow, Murray – Interchanges: Marshall, Host, Tatola, Su’A – Reserves: Burns, Mago, Taaffe, Moale

Unavailable: Brock Gardner (Injured), Alex Johnston (Injured), Liam Knight (Injured), Campbell Graham (Injured)

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs were able to extend their winning streak to eight matches thanks to another impressive attacking display in which they hit the 50-point mark for the second game in succession.
  • The Rabbitohs have scored 110 points in their last two outings after blowing St. George Illawarra Dragons away and having drawn level with second-placed Penrith Panthers on the ladder, Souths will be hopeful of notching another success to stay in the hunt for a spot in the top two.

THE PREDICTION

Parramatta Eels were very poor in defeat to Sydney Roosters last week and after they were nilled in that contest, they have it all to do to right the wrongs of that display. They were lacklustre on both sides of the ball and they have some big issues to fix ahead of a tough clash with South Sydney Rabbitohs. Having won their last eight, Souths have the form behind them to extend their winning run, especially as the Eels have lost three of their last four. The Rabbitohs have also won their last three matches against Parramatta and they should have too much in attack for their opponents to handle in this one.
