  • Gold Coast Titans were superb as they made it back-to-back victories with a dominant win over Queensland rivals North Queensland Cowboys and they will be full of confidence ahead of this tricky clash.
  • The Titans racked up 44 points in the impressive display in which they created 11 line breaks but they will need to reduce the number of errors this week having made 13 in the win over the Cowboys.

CANBERRA RAIDERS

Starting 13: Nicoll-Klokstad, Simonsson, Croker, Kris, Rapana, Wighton, G. Williams, Papalii, Hodgson, Lui, Young, Whitehead, Sutton – Interchanges: Starling, Havili, Soliola, James – Reserves: S. Williams, Valemei

  • Canberra Raiders blew a huge lead last week as the New Zealand Warriors fought back from 31-10 down in the final 30 minutes as the Raiders allowed their opponents to score 24 unanswered points to fall to defeat.
  • In fairness to the Raiders, they had been left decimated by injuries in the early stages of the game but they had built a lead big enough to defend and their number of missed tackles at 32 will need to be improved on this week.

THE PREDICTION

Gold Coast Titans and Canberra Raiders go head-to-head in an intriguing battle with both teams believing they can prevail in this one. It is a great test of where the Titans are as they look to break into the top eight this season and this challenge against a potential top four team will be a good gauge for them. The two teams were on the end of very different results last week and while the Raiders will not be too concerned by how they threw away a big lead against New Zealand Warriors owing to the unique circumstances they found themselves in because of injuries, the confidence of the Titans could be crucial here and they can at least come out on top with the aid of an eight-point start on the handicap.
