- Canterbury Bulldogs’ season hit another low point as they were on the end of a 0-66 hammering against Manly Sea Eagles last week and with Brisbane Broncos winning their Round 16 contest, the Dogs are now the outright bottom side at the foot of the ladder.
- Trent Barrett’s side just could not get a foothold in the game as they conceding points at an alarming regularity while also offering very little with the ball, although they are boosted this week by the return of several players who have completed their period of isolation.

- Sydney Roosters suffered a second loss in succession after being blown away by Melbourne Storm last week and they have it all to do if they are to turn their form around for a tilt at the Premiership.
- The Roosters were no match for Melbourne Storm who ran out 0-46 winners and while they will be confident of winning this clash with bottom side Canterbury Bulldogs, they will have to do so without key man James Tedesco who is on Origin duty.
THE PREDICTION
Canterbury Bulldogs are now the clear favourites to collect the
wooden spoon after their hammering at the hands of Manly Sea Eagles last
week. They must now overturn a two-point deficit to climb over Brisbane
Broncos on the ladder but they face a tough task to do that this week
as they take on Sydney Roosters. The Tricolours come into this on the
back of two heavy losses but they can respond here against the bottom
side to claim a routine victory by 13+ points, making it eight
successive victories against the Bulldogs.
