- Canterbury Bulldogs were finally able to get off the mark at the seventh time of asking this season as they stunned Cronulla Sharks last week to hand Trent Barrett his first success in charge.
- The Bulldogs made a quick start and did not look back as they led 0-18 at the break before holding on despite a second half fightback from the Sharks but Canterbury will need to go up another gear if they are to back that victory up.

- Parramatta Eels were wasteful in possession but it did not stop Brad Arthur’s side posting 46 points in a big win over Brisbane Broncos last week as they improved to 6-1 for the season and on the evidence of last week, there is still plenty more to come from them.
- The Eels saw 59% of the ball as they dominated for large spells in what was a one-sided affair but they will have been annoyed having made 11 errors which prevented them from amassing an even larger margin of victory.
THE PREDICTION
Canterbury Bulldogs earned their first win of the campaign with victory over Cronulla Sharks last week but they face an uphill task to go back-to-back. They take on a Parramatta Eels side that come into this on the back of winning six of their seven games this season and having scored 46 points in their clash with Brisbane Broncos last week. The Eels could and probably should have added to that total but wasted plenty of opportunities to do so and while they will not be too concerned with that, they will be looking for a more complete performance here. The Bulldogs will be on a high after their maiden win but they are likely to be brought back down to earth with the Eels able to win by 13+ points.
