RFS are attempting to reclaim the Latvian Higher League title, sitting above Riga after finishing second last season. RFS hammered Northern Irish outfit Glentoran by four goals to one on aggregate in the first qualifying round.
Vestri have become the first ever Icelandic second-tier side to play in UEFA competition as they won the 2025 Icelandic Cup but also succumbed to relegation. They were beaten 6-0 on aggregate by Qarabag in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
