Papua New Guinea vs Solomon Islands prediction

In the group stages of OFC qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which took place last year, these two sides faced off against each other in Group A but they were the two sides that were eliminated as New Caledonia finished at the top with Fiji as runners’ up.

The Solomon Islands did manage to defeat Papua New Guinea with a 2-1 victory in Port Moseby. Papua New Guinea are ranked 170th in the world according to FIFA, under the management of Felipe Vega-Arango. The Solomon Islands, in comparison, are 149th in the rankings with Josh Smith at the helm and, as shown last year, they do have a slight advantage.

However, a consistent theme for the two sides throughout that group was that they both played quite an entertaining style and so both teams scoring may well be a good bet.
