Paksi vs Maribor prediction

In the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, Paksi suffered a hammering at the hands of Romanian outfit CFR Cluj by three goals to nil on aggregate. They shared a goalless draw in Hungary in the first-leg of that tie, before being blown away in the second-leg in Cluj.

They now face a Maribor side that have a lot more European pedigree, having reached the league or group phase of UEFA competition on five occasions since 2012. However, the Slovenians haven’t reached that stage since 2018. They were knocked out in the playoff stage of this competition in the 2024/25 campaign.

Paksi lack a bit of nous and experience on the continent and, despite their poor record of late, Maribor have that in abundance in comparison, so are slight favourites.

Paksi vs Maribor tip: Double chance – Maribor to win or draw
