  • Northern Ireland have lost their last two World Cup qualifiers, both by a 1-0 scoreline.
  • Northern Ireland have won only four of their last 17 World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L9).
  • Luxembourg have lost their last six World Cup qualifiers, failing to score in the most recent four.

Northern Ireland vs Luxembourg prediction

After a tough start back in charge of Northern Ireland, Michael O’Neill’s side have begun to turn things around and they have booked their spot in the UEFA playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which take place in March.

The Northern Irish did, though, suffer a slender 1-0 defeat to Slovakia in Kosice the other day due to a second-half stoppage-time winner scored by substitute Tomas Bebcko.

Luxembourg have been regressing in the last 12 to 18 months or so but they did but in an improved and stubborn performance as they suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Germany due to a Nick Woltemade brace for Die Mannschaft.

Northern Ireland can rest and rotate for this one but will want to finish their campaign with a flourish, and for them that will be by being as tight as ever against Luxembourg.
