Key stats

  • Nicaragua are without a win in their last five World Cup qualifying matches with one draw and four defeats.
  • Honduras are unbeaten in their previous eight matches in the current World Cup qualifying campaign with six wins and two draws.
  • Honduras have not conceded a goal in their last six World Cup qualifying matches.

Nicaragua vs Honduras prediction

Nicaragua have started the third round of CONCACAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with just one point collected from their four matches thus far. The Nicaraguans most recently suffered a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Costa Rica in their most recent outing.

Honduras, after four matches, sit at the top of the group with two victories and two draws. They haven’t been at a tournament since the 2014 FIFA World Cup but the fierce and still hostile Hondurans are closing in on returning, albeit they do have the aforementioned Costa Ricans breathing down their neck.

The game between Costa Rica and Honduras in Costa Rica in a few days will be the decider but Honduras should take a step closer to qualification with a win here.
