Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams suffered damaging divisional defeats last week but their play-off fate remains in their own hands ahead of this pivotal Week 17 tussle. The Cardinals failed to make it three straight wins as they lost to San Francisco 49ers whilst the Rams were held on offense as they struggled against Seattle Seahawks. Neither team played well enough last week but to make matters worse for the Rams, QB Jared Goff suffered an injured right thumb and has been ruled out of this contest. John Wolford will line-up under center and that tilts the game in favour of the Cardinals. They too were poor on offense last week but they look capable of responding here and the road team can edge a low-scoring encounter that produces under 44 points to book their spot in the play-offs but the Rams will need to hope that Chicago Bears fail to beat Green Bay Packers if they want to join them.
