THE PREDICTION

Minnesota Vikings would have been hoping to come into this Christmas Day clash with New Orleans Saints full of optimism that a victory here would put them within touching distance of a play-off spot but instead, they need to win just to have any chance whatsoever of prolonging their season. In a pivotal game with NFC North rivals Chicago Bears, the Vikings came unstuck as they suffered back-to-back losses at a time when they could simply not afford to and now sitting at 6-8, their season is hanging by a thread. The Saints also suffered second consecutive loss last week but they are already safely in the play-offs and they will be content with their efforts against Kansas City Chiefs last week. QB Drew Brees took a while to get going on his return from injury but with that game under his belt, he will improve on the back of that performance and he can guide his side back to winning ways here.
