San Francisco 49ers are all but out of the play-off picture after they suffered a second consecutive loss when they ideally needed to win-out to have a chance of making the post-season. They were defeated by Washington Football Team in a contest where defenses were on top but their opponents just got the better of them in the eight-point loss. They will hope to just about stay in the hunt as they take on Dallas Cowboys, although the home team produced a dominant display to see off Cincinnati Bengals last week. That will give the Cowboys some confidence for this clash but despite just one win in their last six for the 49ers, the road team are beginning to get starters back and look to have the weapons on both sides of the ball to prevail in this one to keep their faint play-off hopes alive.
