CLEVELAND BROWNS
- Cleveland Browns marked their return to the post-season with a remarkable victory over Pittsburgh Steelers but their reward for that success is a daunting trip to face defending champions Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead.
- In a battle of the two AFC North teams, the Browns made an incredible start as they raced into a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and despite the Steelers fighting back to narrow the gap, Cleveland were able to hold on to earn a 48-37 win.
- The Browns highlighted their ability on offense during last week’s victory but they will have to produce similar numbers against the Chiefs, especially as Cleveland’s defense is prone to allowing plenty of points.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
- Kansas City Chiefs lost just two matches during the regular season with the second of those defeats coming in their final game against Los Angeles Chargers as head coach Andy Reid opted to rest a lot of his key men.
- The Chiefs look well-placed for a real tilt at defending the title they won last season after they secured the #1 seed in the AFC which ensures that the conference runs through Arrowhead.
- Despite putting in some under-whelming performances this season, the Chiefs have still found a way to win which is ominous for the rest of the NFL and they are likely to rely heavily on their offense to take the game away from their opponents here.
THE PREDICTION
Kansas City Chiefs have long been fancied to backup last season’s Super Bowl success and having ended the regular campaign with a 14-2 record, they showed their ability in abundance. It was not always plain sailing for the Chiefs but they highlighted their class by winning games even when they were not at their best. That will be a big concern for the Cleveland Browns who they will come up against in this Divisional Round clash, especially as the Browns have shown some struggles on defense this season. They won an incredible contest with Pittsburgh Steelers last week but they will need to improve on that against the Chiefs. The Browns are unlikely to halt the home team’s superb offensive ability so need to turn this into a shootout but they are still set to fall short with the Chiefs able to claim the victory in a high-scoring affair which should produce at least 53 points.
