TERRANCE MCKINNEY VS MIKE BREEDEN LOWDOWN
Terence McKinney (13-6) is clearly desperate to get back in the win column as he steps up on short notice only a month after his last fight. It is understandable as he is coming off two losses and felt hard done by in his last outing against Nazim Sadykhov. He ended up getting submitted so he needs to turn 2023 around after starting it with a devastating knockout loss to Ismael Bonfim.
Mike Breeden (10-5) accepts the change in opponent after Lando Vannata had to pull out with an injury. He heads to the APEX in search of his first UFC win. His last dub was back in 2021 for the Fighting Alliance Championship outpointing Nick Compton and has only fought twice since. He got sparked out by Alexander Hernandez (2021) and outpointed by Natan Levey (2022).
TERRANCE MCKINNEY VS MIKE BREEDEN PREDICTION
McKinney has been finished three times in his last four fights and has only had a few days to prepare. That said, he is still a very dangerous fighter with the skill set to get him in the rankings.
That said, Breeden is a good striker with decent cardio and McKinney’s chin has taken a lot of damage. McKinney’s gas tank is one of his biggest weaknesses, but on paper, he is the more dangerous striker and his grappling is on another level.
He incorporated a good game plan against Sadykhov until he got caught and we expect him to play it smart again. He has the wrestling to take Breeden down at will and he does not have to worry as much about the submission threat.
We are backing McKinney to control three rounds at least and if everything goes to plan, he will find a finish.
