MORGAN CHARRIERE VS JOSE MARISCAL LOWDOWN
Morgan Charriere (19-9-1) is fresh off his perfect UFC debut back in September last year. He graced the UFC Fight Night 226 card in Paris and folded Manolo Zecchini with a perfect body kick in the first round. That dub extended his win streak to four which includes three knockouts.
He was preparing for Seung Woo Choi who had to pull out but has been replaced by Jose Mariscal (15-6(1)). He also made his UFC debut last year which was a unanimous decision win over Trevor Peek. He then found himself on the UFC 293 card and walked away with a TKO over Jack Jenkins who injured his arm.
MORGAN CHARRIERE VS JOSE MARISCAL PREDICTION
Mariscal has had about a month to prepare, and he will provide a very stern test for the favourite. He is tough and well-rounded with some quality experience under the belt.
He will look to bring the action and enforce a pressure to prevent Charriere finding his flow. He will throw a variety of attacks on the feet and will not hesitate to shoot in for a takedown.
That would be a smart move as the Frenchman is very dangerous when there is space. He will attack the legs, body and head with kicks, but he will need to keep up the output to slow Mariscal down.
Charriere is the more dangerous striker and if this stays on the feet, he makes complete sense as the favourite. We expect him to look great in the first round, but if Mariscal comes out unscathed, he can break the Frenchman down in the second and third.
This is very close to call, but we can see an upset happening.
