JOSH PARISIAN VS MARTIN BUDAY LOWDOWN
Josh Parisian (15-6) has found it tough in the big leagues going 2-3. He lost his debut via unanimous decision to Parker Porter (2020) and then won a split decision over Roque Martinez (2021). He then got knocked out by Don’Tale Mayes (2021) and responded in kind again by knocking out Alan Baudot (2022). However, he is now coming of a unanimous decision loss to Jamal Pogues (2023)
Martin Buday (12-1) has not made any noise in the division yet, but he has looked a lot more consistent. He has earnt decisions over Chris Barnett (2022), Lukasz Brzeski (2022) and Jake Collier (2023) to extend his winning streak to 11. Now, he has a great opportunity to make it 12 with a fourth UFC dub.
JOSH PARISIAN VS MARTIN BUDAY PREDICTION
Parisian is grateful to be on the UFC Vegas 78 card after his fight with Walt Harris was scrapped leading up to UFC Vegas 77 last month. He has a change of opponent here who does not possess the same knockout power, but he has all the form and confidence.
Expect Parisian to try and overwhelm Buday with his volume, enforcing the pressure and shooting in for the odd takedown. Buday will be well aware of this and he has the power to break the rhythm of Parisian.
He also has good takedown defence and we expect this fight to remain where Buday wants it and will be able to win the striking exchanges. We expect Parisian’s toughness to drag this to the bell, but it will not be enough to sway the judges.
Prediction: Buday via Decision
Prediction: Parisian to win
