IGNACIO BAHAMONDES VS CHRISTOS GIAGOS LOWDOWN
After his upset loss on debut, Ignacio Bahamondes (14-5) was starting to gain some momentum. He responded to the split decision loss to John Makdessi (2021) with a spectacular spinning wheel kick knockout over Roosevelt Roberts (2021). He followed that up with a submission over Zhu Rong (2022) and a unanimous decision over Trey Odgen (2023). However, he then ran into Ludovit Klein (2023) who came out on top in a classy unanimous decision.
Christos Giagos (20-11) would love a win streak in the UFC, but it is only getting harder to achieve and he is 1-3 in his last four. He got finished by Arman Tsarukyan (2021) and Thiago Moises (2022) before pulling a ‘Performance of the Night’ out the bag knocking out Ricky Glenn (2023) in the first round. However, he got finished again back in September falling into Daniel Zellhuber’s anaconda choke.

Giagos takes on another lanky prospect hoping for a better outcome. Bahamondes stands at 6’2” and will boast a four-inch height and reach advantage. He will look to utilize that to the full by maintaining the distance and peppering Giagos with his jab and long kicks.
Giagos hits hard and he has the wrestling to really test the defence of the Chilean. If Bahamondes cannot control the distance, Giagos will enter the pocket and uncork on his chin before shooting in for the takedown.
Giagos can cause the upset, but he has not proved he can beat someone with the talent of Bahamondes, and we are backing the favourite to find a finish.
