DANIEL ZELLHUBER VS CHRISTOS GIAGOS LOWDOWN

Daniel Zellhuber (13-1) has recovered from his forgettable entrance to the UFC. He arrived unbeaten with 12 fights under the belt including a unanimous decision over Lucas Almeida (2021) on the Contender Series. He met Trey Ogden a year later for his debut and suffered the first loss of his career in a unanimous decision. However, he returned to fight Lando Vannata in April this year and fell on the right side of a decision this time.

Now, he takes on Christos Giagos (20-10) who also coming off a relieving win back in April. He was coming off two humbling first-round finishes albeit to a couple studs. He got TKO’d by Arman Tsarukyan (2021) and then submitted by Thiago Moises (2022) but bounced back with a beautiful knockout over Ricky Glenn.

DANIEL ZELLHUBER VS CHRISTOS GIAGOS PREDICTION

After Giagos smoked Glenn, Zellhuber will hope he has the confidence to trade with him. Giagos hits like a truck, but that was his first knockout in seven years and his strengths lie in his grappling.

We expect him to have the nous to only use his striking to set up a takedown and get the Mexican on his back. Zellhuber has good takedown defence, but if Giagos lands an early takedown, the 24-year-old could be in for a long night.

He is the favourite and we back him to keep the fight on the feet long enough and showcase his superior technique to inflict the fight-winning damage, but there is value on Giagos considering the odds.

Prediction: Zellhuber via Decision

Value bet: Giagos to win
