COURT MCGEE VS ALEX MORONO LOWDOWN

Court McGee (21-12) does not have much left to give after his chin has finally given way after 21 UFC fights. He showed a brief resurgence by earning vintage unanimous decisions over Claudio Silva (2021) and Ramiz Brahimaj (2022). However, Jeremiah Wells (2022) crushed the chin in the first round. Matt Brown (2023) then inflicted even more damage a year later with another ruthless knockout slumping to a UFC record of 10-11.

Alex Morono (23-9(1)) has also been around the block but has a more aesthetic UFC record of 12-6(1). After stringing four of those wins together, Santiago Ponzinibbio (2022) halted the momentum with a third round TKO. He responded with a brilliant submission over Tim Means (2023) but is coming off another loss and unanimous decision to Joaquin Buckley (2023).

COURT MCGEE VS ALEX MORONO PREDICTION

Morono’s decision loss to Buckley is already ageing well whereas McGee’s two knockout losses linger like a bad smell. His durability kept him in any fight in the past and although we feel his chin has not completely gone, this is a bad match-up for him.

Morono is good everywhere and he will certainly test that chin. McGee will try and close this distance as usual and grind Morono down with his pressure. However, we feel Morono has the defensive grappling, speed and power to avoid getting tied down and hurt McGee on the feet.

A knockout or submission is possible, but we feel McGee has just enough juice to drag this to this to the bell.

Prediction: Morono via Decision

Value bet: Morono via KO/TKO or Submission
