CHRIS DUNCAN VS YANAL ASHMOZ LOWDOWN

Chris Duncan (10-1) has finally got his UFC account up and running. After getting knocked out by Viacheslav Borshchev (2021) on the Contender Series, he went back to the regional scene of the Ultimate Fight League to collect a routine unanimous decision over Jonathan Carlos (2022). That earnt him a second audition on the Contender Series which he passed with flying colours knocking out Charlie Campbell (2022) in the first round. He was handed a tough debut in the form of Omar Morales but squeaked past in a split decision.

He takes on Yanal Ashmoz (7-0) who is fresh off smoking another home favourite in London. He took on Sam Patterson at UFC 286 which was the same card Duncan fought Morales back in March. He made a mockery of the odds starching him in the first round to start his UFC career off with a bang and extend his unbeaten record.

CHRIS DUNCAN VS YANAL ASHMOZ PREDICTION

Ashmoz is still on cloud nine and now returns to London to emulate that dream debut. He gave up 10 inches in reach and six in height to Patterson and only has three inches in reach and one in height to worry about here.

That said, we do not feel reach will be much of a factor here as we expect Duncan to call upon his grappling to subdue the Israeli and drain the gas tank. He can grapple himself and is very strong, but Duncan has the technique and cardio to steal the rounds.

The stand-up contest should also be feisty and we expect Duncan’s toughness to weather the early storm of explosive strikes to finish strong in round two and three.

Prediction: Duncan via Decision

Value bet: Ashmoz to win
