Mirra Andreeva vs Belinda Bencic prediction
Mirra Andreeva reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the first time after comfortably defeating Emma Navarro 6-2 6-3. The 18-year-old is the youngest player to reach this stage of the tournament since Nicole Vaidisova in 2007. She raced into a 5-1 lead in the first set and constantly created opportunities on the Navarro serve with her strong returning.
She now goes up against Belinda Bencic in the quarters. Bencic continued her resurgence with a straight sets win over Ekaterina Alexandrova. Alexandrova had beaten Bencic just a few weeks ago on grass at the Bad Homburg Open but the Swiss exacted revenge here with a 7-6 6-4 win. She’s into the last eight of a major for the first time since 2021 and this is her first away from the US Open.
Bencic has enjoyed an impressive tournament up to this point, but Andreeva has still not dropped a set and has barely put a foot wrong. She has gone from strength to strength this season and it's likely to continue here at the All England Club.
