Mark Williams vs Judd Trump prediction
Mark Williams held off a stunning John Higgins fightback in their Class of 92’ contest in the quarter-finals, potting a sensational blue on his way to a clutch clearance in the deciding frame to win 13-12.
The Welsh Potting Machine was 12-8 up over his great rival but Higgins reeled off four straight frames to force a dramatic final frame.
Williams, a three-time world champion, now faces Judd Trump in a repeat of the 2024 Saudi Arabia Masters final, which the latter clinched 10-9.
World number one Trump withstood a barrage of incredible potting from Luca Brecel in the quarter-final to continue his bid for a second world title.
The Bristolian won all five frames in the Wednesday evening session, underlining his status as the tournament favourite with some incredible break-building. Having earlier pocketed £100k for reaching 100 centuries in the 2024-25 season, Trump hit is 104th against Brecel – a new record for the tour.
Despite all his experience and his unshakeable temperament, Williams will surely find it difficult to contain Trump, who came through a real test in the last eight that will only serve to boost his confidence further.
For extra value, consider backing the Ace in the Pack to overcome a handicap in this semi-final, with his scoring power likely proving too strong for Williams.
