Chris Wakelin vs Neil Robertson prediction
13th seed Chris Wakelin, who has enjoyed success this season by winning the Scottish Open, defeated qualifier Liam Pullen 10-6 in the first round.
The 34-year-old was level at 5-5 but from there he was ruthless in punishing mistakes from his young opponent.
Neil Robertson won by the same scoreline against Pang Junxu in his own opener, in a match which followed a similar pattern of play to Wakelin's.
The 2010 world champion made a nervy start but some excellent long-potting in the latter part of the match saw him pull away from the Chinese qualifier.
The Aussie will be looking for revenge against Wakelin after losing to the Englishman in the first round of last year's World Snooker Championship, although he did come out on top 6-2 in their last 16 meeting at the Masters this year.
Fourth seed Robertson should be winning this but Wakelin has made big strides over the last couple of years and is capable of pushing the Thunder from Down Under all the way.
