John Higgins vs Neil Robertson prediction
John Higgins displayed his trademark grit and determination to pip Class of '92 rival Ronnie O'Sullivan to the post in an enthralling second-round contest that went to the deciding frame.
The Scot was trailing 9-4 at one stage but won nine of the last 12 frames to secure a dramatic 13-12 victory over the seven-time champion, producing his best snooker of the tournament in the last two sessions.
Neil Robertson, meanwhile, produced a late burst against Chris Wakelin, winning six of the last seven frames to win 13-7 and continue his hunt for a second world title.
The Aussie is in the last eight for the first time since 2021, but hasn't advanced further since 2014, with the Thunder from Down-Under generally underperforming at the Crucible.
The pair have met only once before in Sheffield, with Higgins winning 13-10 in their 2019 quarter-final. The 50-year-old is the marginal favourite with the bookies here, and we'd agree with that assessment given his superior Crucible pedigree when compared to Robertson.
