Luke Humphries vs Stephen Bunting prediction

It has not been vintage Luke Humphries in this year's Premier League but the former world champion has gone up a gear at just the right moment, with consecutive final appearances putting him into the top four ahead of the action in Birmingham (although Michael van Gerwen, who plays earlier in the evening, can temporarily leapfrog him).

Cool Hand will be disappointed at the fact he has lost all three finals he has contested in this year's event though, and will be determined to go all the way in at least one of the final two nights of regular season action.

The situation is clear for Stephen Bunting here; a loss in this quarter-final would spell the end of his play-off hopes, so he must progress to at least the semi-finals, and probably further, to stay in the hunt.

The Bullet performed well in the Players Championship double-header this week, reaching the semi-finals on Tuesday and the quarter-finals on Wednesday, but his doubles have really let him down throughout the Premier League campaign.

Humphries looks to be regaining some of the confidence that took him to world number one before Luke Littler took over, so he looks the more likely winner here.
