Jack Rafferty: Unbeaten and back in action for the first time since May

Jack Rafferty (27-0-1) returns to action for the first time since May, when he stopped Ekow Essuman in six rounds.

After a draw with Mark Chamberlain in August 2025, the first time he had failed to leave the ring with a win, he bounced back by stopping Essuman, and he now gets the chance to step up once again with the vacant IBO welterweight title on the line. Rafferty is determined to put on a show.

Hovhannes Martirosyan: A golden opportunity in the biggest fight of his career

Hovhannes Martirosyan (20-1) is coming off four successive wins, and this is a golden opportunity for him to claim the IBO world welterweight title.

His only defeat came at the hands of Pierce O’Leary in March 2024, and this is easily the biggest fight of his career, so it will be interesting to see how he measures up against Rafferty.

Jack Rafferty vs Hovhannes Martirosyan prediction

Rafferty is understandably a heavy favourite with the bookmakers, and that is no surprise given the level he has fought at. He will also be fighting in front of a very partisan Manchester crowd.

Martirosyan is as game as they come, but his knockout defeat to O’Leary, in what was a thrilling fight, showed his limitations.

All the pressure is on Rafferty in this fight, but he should have more than enough quality, stamina and grit to power to victory, on points if the stoppage is not forthcoming.

Prediction: Jack Rafferty to win
