Emanuel Navarrete vs O’Shaquie Foster prediction

We have a great matchup on Saturday night as The Ring Magazine, WBC, IBF and WBO world super featherweight titles are on the line, with Emanuel Navarrete of Mexico taking on American O’Shaquie Foster in San Antonio, Texas.

Navarrete is coming into his 45th professional bout in what has been a long and storied career, and he arguably faces one of his toughest tests in this unification clash.

Foster has been on a tear in recent years, with a split-decision defeat to Robson Conceição in July 2024 his only loss since July 2016. He avenged that loss to Conceição to regain his WBC super featherweight title in November 2024, and has registered decision victories over Stephen Fulton and Raymond Ford since then.

As Foster has risen through the levels, he has found that he does not quite possess knockout power at world title level, and has had to rely on his boxing skills and stamina to win and retain titles.

Navarrete, on the other hand, is powerful at this level and has registered 33 knockouts among his 40 victories. Whether he can match Foster’s skill set and speed, however, will be just as important as whether Foster can withstand Navarrete’s power.

Despite having had 16 more fights than Foster, Navarrete is actually the younger man at 31, with Foster two years his senior. It is Navarrete, however, who has been in far more battles.

Our sense is that Foster has the edge here, and his style will make it difficult for Navarrete to impose his will. Foster has never been stopped, and we fancy him to box his way to a points win.

Prediction: O’Shaquie Foster to win by decision
