Iran vs Cape Verde prediction

The Iranians come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Russia in an international friendly last month. Iran came through quite a competitive group in the third round of AFC qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, finishing at the top, above the likes of Uzbekistan, the UAE and Qatar.

They now face a Cape Verde side that, under the management of Bubista, confirmed qualification for a first ever FIFA World Cup during the October international break. They managed to finish above a strong Cameroon side in their group in African qualifying, defeating the Cameroonians in September.

Cape Verde will now seek to learn what their level of quality translates to outside of Africa and there is an expectation that they may struggle outside of the continent.
