The reason that Welsh minnows Haverfordwest County have a chance of springing a surprise is as a result of keeping things tight last week. The first-leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round tie saw Floriana defeat Haverfordwest County by two goals to one at the MFA Centenary Stadium in Malta. Ben Ahmun actually have County a 27th minute lead before Floriana turned things around thanks to goals from Gonzalo Gamarra and Jake Grech.
Haverfordwest County will have taken some real spirit and pride from that first-leg, and so they will believe that now, with their home advantage, they have a real chance of being able to take the game to Floriana.
Floriana have a lot more European pedigree, but that doesn’t appear to matter too much at the moment, and a surprise bet in favour of the hosts would be good value.
