A key part of Belgium’s so-called ‘golden generation’ in the mid-to-late-2010s, Kevin De Bruyne remains the integral point of creative difference in Belgium’s attack this summer. Now a veteran, turning 35 mid-way through the tournament, the former Manchester City man has dealt with persistent injuries in the last couple of seasons, including at Napoli in Serie A during 2025-26 – albeit when he did take to the field for the Neapolitans, his quality often shone through.
