If it wasn’t for the presence of the irrepressible Erling Braut Haaland, Alexander Sorloth would have the Norway side built around him. Having often been overlooked and used as an impact sub by Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, the 30-year-old heads into his first major international tournament on the back of an excellent season, hitting 20 goals across all competition for Los Rojiblancos. The former Crystal Palace forward has been superb in Spain, at both Real Sociedad and Villarreal, since moving from RB Leipzig in 2021. He has hit 20 or more goals in each of his last three seasons, having scored 16 for La Real the season before that.
